Lane Change Assistance

Used either in manual driving mode, LCA relies on longer-range sensors to ensure safety prior to a lane change taking place.

RADAR sensors fitted in the rear of the vehicle constantly monitor the traffic situation between 50 and 100 metres to the side and behind the vehicle.

Prior to a lane change, the function may warn the driver in the dashboard, head-up-display or in the exterior rear-view mirrors, if it detects another vehicle either approaching from behind at speed or already in the blind spot.

At lower speeds and shorter distances, this system may be augmented by short range ultrasonic sensors as part of a complimentary Side View Assist system.
