From time to time, we look to the horizon and think to ourselves “we need help getting there”. Maybe you can help?
(Graduate?) Business Development Executive
We are looking to recruit a Business Development Exec to join Level Five Supplies, a specialist provider of products which are used in robotics, unmanned and autonomous systems.
This is a new role in a small team with a significant potential for advancement, and we’re based in the pretty market town of Frome, Somerset – within easy reach of West of England cities including Bath and Bristol.
The job includes developing sales connections, identifying opportunities and buyers, securing orders, creating quotes, fulfilling orders and attending events for marketing and sales development (sometimes with a colleague, sometimes alone). You’ll also need to get to grips with understanding various target markets, and the difference between lidar, radar, GNSS, IMU, ultrasonic, drive by wire, and technical terms found in the marine, defence, industrial and research sectors, and develop confidence to interact on these topics with customers, deliver demonstrations at customer locations and events, and work with suppliers to share marketing intelligence.
The bulk of this role is developing and maintaining a sales pipeline, but there will be opportunities to develop relationships, develop and deliver projects, get involved in marketing, all of the multi-tasking opportunities that a small company tends to have on offer.
We’re offering a basic salary of up to £25,000 plus commission (OTE £50,000), but expect that both basic salary and role will develop quickly with the right person.
Pending interviews and referencing, we anticipate the successful applicant should start work in September 2019.
You’ll have a good hands on, perhaps academic, background with physics, electronics or robotics, and some commercial experience in business development or technical account management.
You’re comfortable on Microsoft Office packages such as Outlook or Excel, and be a confident communicator in person, on the phone and in writing.
A passport, full driving license and a car is essential, and additional languages are a bonus but not essential.
If you like bullet points, then here are a few:
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Proven experience in a commercially oriented role
- Logic problem solving and analytical skills
- Good technical understanding of computer systems
- A desire and excitement to learn and understand a vast array of business types, requirements and technologies
- Strong communication skills and an ability to understand technology and support client needs
- Personable, customer satisfaction driven attitude
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
Level Five Supplies is a small but growing supplier of hardware sourced from advanced suppliers around the world. Our customers are often research and development groups, universities, or organisations developing their own products, systems or services using components that we supply, whether they are surveying tools, robots, autonomous vehicles or intelligent infrastructure.
We’re a startup, so the dress code and work environment in the office, a cool co-working space, is fairly relaxed and you’ll be reporting directly to and working closely with the CEO. Unlike most startups, we are owned by a larger company, so you’ll get exposure to how an international business is run as the company grows, while enjoying the stimulation of a fast moving environment where your skills and experience can develop quickly and able to influence how things are done, enjoying the financial security of having a corporate employer with all the benefits that brings.
Likewise, while the 9-5 working week is generally the norm, time differences and travel to and working at events may alter these hours a bit, and you may also need to stay overnight, but you’ll get those hours back so you won’t be broken by the burden of work.
How to apply:
A CV would be great (two pages maximum please!) – this gives us the chance to get to know you better, and a covering letter to let us know why you’d like to work for us would be awesome. If you’re a graduate looking for a first job, maybe your commercial experience is lacking but you’ve been hard at work during your studies and perhaps thrown yourself into the SU or Formula Student? Don’t discount yourself… we’re looking for someone with passion, desire and attention to detail far more than someone ticking boxes.
Got everything you can think of? Great, head on over to the job posting on Indeed and apply.
One more thing…
No agencies please! We love you (you know who you are, you cheeky scamps), but this one is for us and our wonderful fans – we’ll holler if we need to.
