Predictive Pedestrian Protection

Detects pedestrians and using body posture as position estimation, predicts a likely motion path which might intersect with the vehicle.

Pedestrians and other smaller road users, such as cyclists, are vulnerable, but generally don’t change direction suddenly.

This predictable behaviour aids computer algorithms which, using sensors such as camera, RADAR and LiDAR, can make reasonable assumptions about the likelihood of a collision and alert the driver to the risk.
